Steve James Pilon (Deceased)
Comments
Steven James Pilon, age 66, of Robbinsdale, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on March 2, 2022. Preceded in death by his father James E Pilon and, recently, brother John Pilon and sister Linda Pilon. Survived by mother Donna Pilon; brother Daniel Pilon (Jennifer Nurnberger); sisters Tamara Sikkink (Daniel) and Candace Pilon (Gurumurthy Ramachandran); nieces and nephews Andrea and Christopher Miller, Kate and Max Sikkink, Sandhya and Arjun Ramachandran, Andrew Pilon. Steven enjoyed time with his family. He provided care and companionship for his parents in their later years and enjoyed a special relationship with his nieces and nephews. Steven was a lifelong resident of Robbinsdale and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1974, where he lettered in soccer, wrestling and cross-country skiing. Honorably discharged from USMC after two years of service. Employed by City of Robbinsdale Parks and Recreation Department as a park supervisor for forty years, until retirement in 2021. Steven's working career in and around parks and gyms was an adjunct to his real passion - sports and exercise. He was a true fitness enthusiast and participated in countless amateur soccer matches and basketball games at local gyms, health clubs and playing fields. Other endeavors included chess, triathlons, a marathon, biking, power lifting (the self-proclaimed Strongest Man in Robbinsdale!) and martial arts. He loved the Vikings and the Celtics, American History and current events. Steven met and positively influenced hundreds of young people through his work and involvement in youth sports, coaching and fitness training at local parks and high schools. The family wishes to thank neighbor and friend Richard Hubbell for his care and support.
